- Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance. "Wine Tours and Tastings in the Finger Lakes In the heart of the Finger Lakes lies one of the largest acreages of vineyards in the country with more than 100 wineries. Five wine trails plus one wine path have been formed and named for the lakes they border – Canandaigua, Cayuga, Keuka, Ontario, Seneca, Conesus and Hemlock. Celebrate the harvest, new vintages, wine and food pairings and holiday happenings at spectacular events hosted by these trails. Whatever tickles your taste buds – a crisp white, the heartiness of a deep burgundy, the bubbles of Champagne – you’ll find it here. The perfect and rare mix of climate, good geology along with experienced and gifted winemakers combine to produce the superior award-winning vintages you’ll love. Nearly all of the more than 100 wineries offer tasting rooms and gifts shops with some offering a unique look at the processes used in developing their own vintages. Several have restaurants with lake view dining. For the ultimate luxury and a hassle-free winery tour, charter one of the chauffeured tours offered throughout the region. - Visit Adirondacks. "The Adirondack Region in northern New York State is comprised of the 8 counties that make up the majority of the Adirondack Park: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Herkimer, Lewis, St. Lawrence, and Warren.

Ranging from the St. Lawrence River and the Tug Hill Plateau in the west, to Lake Champlain and Lake George in the east, the region of over six million acres contains the largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi River, the Adirondack Park. The spectacular Adirondack Park, and its associated networks of hiking, paddling, and winter recreation opportunities, is a park unlike any other. There is no entrance, and it is open all the time! The Adirondack Park is also home to over one hundred year round communities. These communities provide the services that enable visitors to enjoy everything that the park has to offer.
Within the Adirondack Region, but outside of the park, are the commercial centers including Plattsburgh, Malone, Canton, Potsdam, and Glens Falls. These areas offer a much different experience than the communities that lie within the park, yet they are located only a few miles from the park's amenities."
